Indian head massage - Edinburgh

Indian head massage, also known as Champissage, is an Ayurvedic form of healing and relaxation that has been used in Asia for thousands of years. With the help of a special combination of massage strokes, this ancient art can help ease the stresses and strains of modern-day life.

You'd be forgiven for thinking that an Indian head massage focuses solely on the head but as well as the scalp and the face, other areas of the upper body that hold tension, such as the back, neck and shoulders are worked on. This treatment also stimulates noted 'acupressure' points.

For this treatment the client can choose to sit in a chair (please wear loose fitting clothing so you won't feel restricted or uncomfortable) or lie on the massage couch (you're required to disrobe however you will be covered by towels with only the area being worked on uncovered).

Benefits of Indian head massage

  • relief from muscular tension
  • relief of neck and shoulder stiffness
  • help improve symptoms of insomnia, headaches, ear problems, hair loss and fatigue
